He served two yearlong deployments to Iraq and earned awards and decorations, including the Meritorious Service Medal, three Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, a Joint Meritorious Unit Award, two Iraqi Campaign Medals, a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, one Army Service Ribbon, four Overseas Service Ribbons, the Expert Field Medical Badge and the Combat Medical Badge, according to an Army news release.
