WASILLA, Alaska - A 25-year-old man has been charged with the weekend robbery of a hitchhiker near Wasilla.

Alaska State Troopers say Jonas Jensen is being held at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with bail set at $10,000.

Troopers say the hitchhiker at 1:30 p.m. Sunday was on Pittman Road about a half mile north of the Parks Highway when a pickup pulled over. A passenger got out and struck the hitchhiker with some kind of club.

Troopers say the man took the hitchhiker's backpack, which contained a laptop and cash.

Jensen is charged with robbery, felony theft, assault and weapons misconduct.
