Magnitude 4.2 quake felt in southern Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A light earthquake in southern Alaska has shaken some residents of Anchorage and Kenai.

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center says the magnitude 4.2 quake was located about 34 miles northwest of Anchorage and was at a depth of about 42 miles. It struck just after 2 p.m. local time.

The center says its received reports from Anchorage and Kenai residents who felt the shaking, but there have been no immediate reports of damage.
