LOWER KALSKAG, Alaska - A 21-year-old man from Lower Kalskag has been charged with seriously injuring a former roommate whom he had previously assaulted.

Alaska State Troopers say Ethan Kerr is charged with domestic violence assault and unlawful contact.

Troopers say Kerr was on probation and prohibited from contacting the former roommate when he committed the assault Nov. 9.

He had previously been charged with misdemeanor assault.

Foul weather kept troopers from reaching the village of approximately 300 people until Thursday.

The victim after the latest incident was transported 89 miles to Bethel and later to Anchorage for advanced medical treatment.

Kerr was transported to Bethel.
