Last forum for House candidates set for Tuesday

FAIRBANKS — The last major forum for Interior candidates for the Alaska House is scheduled for Tuesday, a week before the election.

The 11 candidates who are facing off over five seats are scheduled to take part in the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Carlson Center.

The candidates include:

House District 1 — Democrat Janice Golub and Republican Doug Isaacson.

House District 2 — Rep. Bob Miller, D-Fairbanks, and Rep. Tammie Wilson,

R-North Pole.

House District 4 — Rep. Scott Kawasaki, D-Fairbanks, and Republican David Pruhs.

House District 5 — Republican Pete Higgins and Democrat Dave Watts.

House District 38 — Rep. David Guttenberg, D-Fairbanks, and Rep. Alan Dick, R-Nenana, as well as nonpartisan candidate Dorothy Shockley.

The forum for Senate candidates was held last week and video from the event is available on http://fairbankschamber.org.

Early voting already has opened, and election day will be on Nov. 6.
