FAIRBANKS — Saturday is the last day to call in family referrals to Santa’s Clearing House. If you know of a family in need with children, please call the clearinghouse at 457-1934 and let Santa’s elves put them on his

holiday list. All that is needed is the family’s name, address, and the ages and genders of the children.

Each child will receive a bag filled with age-appropriate gifts and the family will receive a week’s supply of grocery staples as well as the fixings for a special holiday meal.

Santa’s Clearing House will begin deliveries to seniors on Friday, Dec. 14, and to families around the greater Fairbanks area on Saturday, Dec. 15. Volunteers will be needed both days for deliveries.

Santa’s Clearing House, located in the former railroad depot behind the News-Miner building, is continuing to accept donations of toys, hats, scarves and gloves, and donations to help pay the grocery bill via cash, check or credit card.

Clearinghouse hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The phone number is 457-1934.

Donations can be mailed to Santa’s Clearing House, Box 70710, Fairbanks, AK 99707, or made by credit card during business hours at the News-Miner’s front desk.
