FAIRBANKS — KUAC-FM had a record fundraiser on its 50th anniversary this fall, bringing in $360,000 to support Interior Alaska public radio broadcasting.

The nine-day fundraiser included more than 1,900 gifts, according to KUAC, including nearly 300 new donors. The total was more than a $50,000 boost from the 2011 fundraiser, which also was a record.

About 300 volunteers from the community answered phones during the fundraiser, along with more than 120 people appearing on-air. KUAC estimated that more than 800 volunteer hours were put into the event.
