To the editor:
We really live in a community of giving and caring people in Fairbanks. Just today, a kind stranger provided to me a gesture worth noting.
I was driving my son’s car to a neighborhood gas station for a coffee refill. I noticed my son’s car was on empty and asked the clerk to add the additional “coins” I had on me for gas to put in my son’s car. The nicest gentleman behind me said, “add an additional $15 to her purchase.”
I was shocked. I hadn’t asked for help. I turned with tears to say thank you, and he said, “someone has done the same for me.” Now it’s my turn to extend the generosity, which I will do. Many thanks to this kind man, who I may never meet again. In Fairbanks, we help each other. Many thanks to this kind stranger.
