KENAI, Alaska - An 88-year-old Kenai woman has died from of injuries suffered when her car smashed into a pickup truck.

Alaska State Troopers say Eileen Rinc died Tuesday night from injuries in a crash that closed the Kenai Spur Highway at Mile 15.5 earlier that afternoon..

Two people in the pickup, 33-year-old Soldotna residents Alicia Castillo and Darren Campbell, were treated for injuries at Central Peninsula Hospital

The Peninsula Clarion reports a southbound three-quarter ton pickup driven by Castillo was stopped on the highway and preparing to turn left into a driveway when the crash occurred.

Rinc approached from behind and sideswiped the pickup. Troopers say her small car became lodged in the pickup's wheel well.
