SOLDOTNA, Alaska - The Kenai Peninsula Borough is waiving permitting fees for residents with properties damaged by the recent flooding.
Mayor Mike Navarre says in a news release that the borough understands that people want to start rebuilding as soon as possible, and the fee waiver is a small thing that the borough can do to help.
Permits are still required.
The fee waiver is effective until Nov. 27.
The borough also says that residents who think their property assessed values could drop due to damage may file a claim for reduced assessment and abatement of taxes.
