JUNEAU, Alaska - Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau has settled an agreement with the federal government over Medicaid costs.

The Juneau Empire (http://is.gd/QAA67p) says the hospital board has agreed to reimburse Medicaid $1.4 million.

The gap in payments was the result of accounting oversights. Bartlett has since hired a company to straighten out the hospital's accounts. The City and Borough of Juneau City Manager Kim Kiefer will have to sign off on the settlement.

Once Bartlett and Kiefer have signed the settlement, the hospital has one week to wire the money.
