JUNEAU, Alaska - The CEO of the Juneau Convention and Visitors Bureau for the past decade is leaving to take a job with the state.

KINY (http://is.gd/faoSM3 ) says Lorene Palmer will be director of the Division of Economic Development. The division is in the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development.

Palmer says the position is now based in Anchorage and will be moved to Juneau. That's where most division employees are located.

Palmer says she will begin her new position Nov. 26.

Steve Hamilton, who chairs the visitors bureau board of directors, says tourism marketing manager Elizabeth Arnett will serve acting CEO until a permanent replacement is found.
