FAIRBANKS — The Hutchison Hawks were all business in Wednesday’s Aurora Conference high school volleyball match against the Galena Hawks.

Hutchison let its serving game do much of the talking in posting a 25-11, 25-7, 25-6 triumph.

“Serving was just amazing,” Hutchison coach Linda Bode said. “The girls stuck to their business and got the job done.”

Yata Davis served 13 straight points to close out the first game. Caroline Everts served for 10 points in the second game and Davis added another seven.

Allyson Yingling registered eight kills to lead the Hutchison offensive attack.

“Galena has a smaller team, but they scrapped hard,” Bode said.

The victory improved Hutchison to 1-0 in conference play and 2-1 overall. Hutchison takes on the Monroe Catholic Rams next Tuesday.
