FAIRBANKS - A Fairbanks woman from New Jersey is organizing a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy victims in her home state.

The fundraiser will be from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds. Organizer Kate Wilson is asking people to come make winter- or Christmas-themed cards to take home, with materials supplied at the event. A minimum donation of $15 and a non-perishable item are requested. The money will go to hurricane victims and the items will be donated to Fairbanks Community Food Bank.

Wilson asks people to RSVP on Facebook so she can know how many supplies to bring. Contact her at ktwilson@alaska.edu or (201) 647-9531.
