FAIRBANKS - A vehicle accident and a winter storm are causing travel difficulties along the Dalton Highway today.

The Alaska Department of Transportation says a vehicle is blocking the northbound lane of the highway near its junction with the Elliott Highway. Crews will be working to recover the vehicle and drivers are urged to reduce speed and drive with caution.

Farther north in the Brooks Range, strong winds and blowing snow are severely limiting visibility between 237-250 Mile. Winds are estimated at 30 to 40 mph. Daytime travel is recommended. The advisory will remain in effect through Thursday.
