FAIRBANKS - It's been a slow snow season so far in Interior Alaska, but that could change on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for heavy snow beginning Wednesday morning and continuing through Thursday for much of the central Interior. From 4 to 10 inches of snow could fall during the storm. That could go a long way toward making up Fairbanks' more than 12-inch snow deficit.

Temperatures are expected to remain a few degrees above and below zero.
