Guardsmen head to Kenai for firefighting training

SOLDOTNA, Alaska — Firefighters from the Air National Guard will get some off-site training this weekend in Kenai.

KSRM reports (http://is.gd/NGiXdr) the firefighters from the guard base at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage will travel to Kenai for their annual training.

Officials expect up to 20 guardsmen to make the trip.

In addition to firefighter training, the guardsmen will also get some military training in.
