Indigenous Peoples Day

Traditional drumming and song filled the crisp morning air as the University of Alaska Fairbanks celebrates its second annual Indigenous Peoples Day with a community celebration that began with a blessing at Troth Yeddha’ Park Monday morning, October 8, 2018. Troth Yeddha' Park, just east of the UA Museum of the North, is named for the ridge on which the Fairbanks campus sits and is the future site of an indigenous studies center. Eric Engman/News-Miner
