A lunch fundraiser for Hudson Sam, a Huslia elder who was recently diagnosed with cancer and will undergo treatment in Fairbanks, will be held from 11 a.m.-
2 p.m. Friday in the Doyon Chiefs Court in the Doyon Plaza.
Soup and chowder tastings, salad and sandwiches are on the menu. Raffles, 50/50 and a bake sale will also be featured at the event. All fundraiser proceeds will be used for living and medical related expenses. Sam is married to Selina; they are parents of nine children.
Volunteers are needed to donate soup or chowders and can sign up with Peter Captain Jr. Raffle Items and baked goods are needed and can be delivered the morning of the event at the Plaza or picked up.
