FAIRBANKS — The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce plans to hold two forums for state candidates before the Nov. 6 elections.

Six candidates for Senate Districts A, B and C will take part in the first forum on Tuesday. Incumbent Sens. Joe Thomas, a Democrat, and John Coghill, a Republican, are vying for the District A seat. Incumbent Democratic Sen. Joe Paskvan and Republican challenger Pete Kelly, a former state senator, are seeking to represent District B. Republican Click Bishop and Democrat Anne Sudkamp are competing for the District C seat.

The second forum, scheduled for Oct. 30, will be a more crowded field, with 11 candidates vying to represent House districts 1, 2, 4, 5 and 38.

Both events are scheduled for noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Carlson Center.

Admission to the forum starts at $5 and goes up for lunch. Visit to RSVP.

The Alaska Support Industry Alliance also will host a candidate forum at its Fairbanks chapter luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The meeting will be held at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge.
