• TOUCH OF SKONDOVITCH, works by the late Alfred Skondovitch, 5-8 p.m., Phillips Studio and Gallery, 1222 Well St. suite 1. 479-0956

• Denali Center, 1510 19th Avenue, will be hosting its sixth annual First Friday event 5:30-7:30 pm. Artwork of DC residents and the employees of Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, Denali Center and Tanana Valley Clinic will be shown. 458-5114.

• Raven First Friday, annual Raven First Friday, 5-8 p.m., with the theme “Ravens Rock,” at the Alaska Bird Observatory Center for education and Research, 418 Wedgewood Drive. Food, refreshments and door prizes and prizes for new and renewing members of the Alaska Bird Observatory. We will also be selling raffle tickets for a piece of raven stained glass. 451-7159

• Octoberfest, showcasing the whalebone carvings of Eugene Romanenko. 5-8 pm. 2 Street Gallery, 535 Second Ave, Suite 102, 455-4070

• WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD, Fairbanks Veterans Center art show. This art show features visual artwork celebrating natural and recycled materials from Fairbanks area veterans, active duty and their family members. Opening night of the no-sale show is 5-7 p.m. at 540 Fourth Ave., Suite 100. 456-4238

• JEWELRY DESIGN AND PRINTMAKING, First Friday display by artists Holly Lena and jeweler Carrie Aronson at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, 101 Dunkel Street. 5-8 p.m. 459-3730

• EN PLEIN AIR, new summer works by Klara Maisch, North Star Radiology, located in the surgery center, 2310 Peger Road. 5:30-8:30 p.m.

• WELL STREET ART CO., new works by Charles Mason and Vladimir Zhikhartsev. Mason, a UAF professor and former New Miner photographer, has an exhibit of new photographs titled “Covering Dixie.” Watercolorist Vladimir Zhikhartsev will show new paintings of the Alaska landscape. 5-8 p.m., 1304 Well Street. 452-6169
