FAIRBANKS - Do you have big plans this year for the solstice?

Going fishing, hiking, camping, boating, downtown or the big concert at The Blue Loon? Maybe something more intimate at home or just camping with the family?

Whatever the plans, the News-Miner would like to see it in pictures for a special photo essay to run in this section June 27. We’re asking you, our readers, to submit your solstice celebration pictures for consideration.

Higher resolution shots are best, (minimum 150 dpi) and should be sent as jpg attachments. Be sure to send them in by 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 23. Photos arriving after that time will not be considered.

Send those photos to Please indicate in subject line: “My best solstice photos attached.”
