Wasilla man nets first 200-pound halibut in Valdez Halibut Derby

FAIRBANKS — The first 200-pound halibut of the season was weighed in at the Valdez Halibut Derby last week.

Scott Hebig, of Wasilla, reeled in a 203.6-pound halibut fishing aboard the Amanda Rose on Friday to take over the top spot on the derby leader board.
