Friends of Creamer’s Field is hosting the annual Tanana Valley Sandhill Crane Festival next weekend at Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge.

This year, the festival will feature guest speaker Gary Ivey, from the International Crane Foundation, and artist Herb Melchior. The 2019 Sandhill Crane Festival poster is a photo taken by Melchior, who is being celebrated for his dedication to Creamer’s Field. There will be lectures each day, a silent auction, a quilt raffle, a Tex-Mex dinner and more. The public is advised that some events will take place at other locations in town — details can be found on the schedule at bit.ly/2Za8k6V.

All proceeds from the festival support Friends of Creamer’s Field and Camp Habitat. The festival will take place Aug. 23-25. For more information, contact Barbara Logan at 907-452-5162 or on her cell at 907-347-6018.
