The monthly meeting of the Alaska Trappers Association will take place Jan. 7 at the Mushers Hall on Farmers Loop Road. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will be preceded by a simple meal served at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will include a description of the association’s latest book, titled “Vanished Bear Trails.” The book was written by Darrell Farmen who guided for the big bears on Kodiak Island from 1953–2005.
The book features a plethora of original photos from Kodiak, some taken as long as 70 years ago. Farmen is scheduled to call in from Anchorage to share some of the background on the book.
