FAIRBANKS — Chitina dip-netters will no longer be allowed to keep king salmon starting on Monday and sport fishermen in the upper Copper River drainage are being restricted to keeping one king for the season instead of the usual four.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game issued an emergency order on Wednesday announcing the restrictions, citing a low commercial harvest of Copper River kings so far this season and low catch rates for kings at research fish wheels.
