North Star Strings is a group of adults who get together on Saturday mornings to play music and have a good time doing so. It is a string orchestra that plays without a conductor, and new members are welcome. Now in its 40th year, members have all become friends and enjoy the fun of playing together.
The group plays old favorites, pops, fiddle and show tunes that is mostly middle school level in difficulty. There are no auditions, no fees and all music is supplied.
Rehearsals are Saturdays in Music Room 301, University of Alaska Fairbanks, from 10 a.m. until noon.
