FAIRBANKS - It’s time once again for the annual John Trigg Ester Library Librarypalooza and Book Bash.

This fundraiser is the largest and oldest event held by the Ester library, and raises money for construction of a new library building and operation of the current library. Plans for the new building will be on display at the Librarypalooza.

The Librarypalooza features the traditional lasagna feed and silent auctions, an outcry auction of fancy desserts, “Inside, Outside, for Your Downside: A Footwear Fashion Show,” live music, and for the first time, a sporting event especially for librarians, the Library Sextathlon. Events include a shushing contest, synchronized book cart choreography, a book carry relay race, a ruler thwap and body boggle.

There will also be live music. Complete details of performers, auctions, lasagna feed and other events can be found at www.esterlibrary.com/.

This year’s event is Sunday at the Annex, 2922 Parks Highway,

from 1-5:30 p.m..
