FAIRBANKS - The Fairbanks Rollergirls battle each other in the Blue Gold Bout, tonight at the Carlson Center.

The Fairbanks Rollergirls are in their first complete season of Derby and have been in existence for almost two years.

The club is a non-profit with a mission to be powerful women empowering others, promoting the sport of roller derby locally and statewide, providing skills training for skaters, raising funds and giving back to the community.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the action starts at 7. Tickets are $10 in advance, available at the Boys & Girls Club, Daizy Dukes Espresso, Interior Graphics & Printing and Team Cutters, or $15 at the door.

This bout will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Tanana Valley, and the Fairbanks Food Bank. Those that bring three cans of food will receive $2 off admission to the next bout, planned in January.
