FAIRBANKS - One look at the Latitude 65 calendar reveals there is no shortage of belly dance classes (and thus belly dancers) in the area.

And like any participatory event, extra gear and accoutrements have a way of piling up. Problem solved: The Belly Dance Shop and Swap Saturday at Space for Movement Studios, 410 Second Ave.

The event is the place to get rid of those unwanted items and score some shiny new dance stuff too. There will be a White Elephant sale rack where individuals can bring up to four items, new or used in good condition. This includes belly dance costumes, jewelry, CDs, DVDs and other related items.

“Our swap table allows people to put out items and get a ticket to exchange for an item from the same table,” explained studio owner Joyce Young. “This is a great way to reduce, reuse and shop without spending money.”

Entry to the event, which runs from 3-6 p.m., is just $5.

Call the studio for more information at 888-8578.
