FAIRBANKS — Outstanding first responders in dispatch, emergency medicine, firefighting and law enforcement were honored at the third Annual No One Left Behind Awards Banquet on Nov. 3.
Thank you to Gov. Bill Walker, Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Sen. Dan Sullivan for congratulating award recipients and for recognizing community efforts to honor first responders and their families for their service. Thank you to student cadets from Lathrop and North Pole High School JROTC who volunteered over 100 hours to review award nominations, select award recipients, set up, serve food, present the color guard, present the awards and clean up.
Event proceeds were donated to the Fairbanks Rescue Mission to ensure that homeless men, women and children have three hot meals, clothes and a safe place to sleep.
This event would not be possible without these generous sponsors: Cold Spot for Healthy Pets, Foundation Health Partners, Kinross Fort Knox, MAC Federal Credit Union, North Pole Worship Center, Sumitomo Pogo Mine and Usibelli Coal Mine.
Special thanks to Hybrid Media Consulting, Jackie of All Trades, Jo’s Oven, North Pole Coffee Roasting Company, North Pole High School Culinary Arts Program, The Odom Corporation, Paris Photographics, Fairbanks Volunteers in Policing, Ryan Middle School staff. This meaningful student service project was also made possible by the Fairbanks Rescue Mission, Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, and the event planning committee, Sheena Cummings, Rodney Gaskins, Britt Larson, Amie Maranville, Emily Proper, Lisa Pullock, Michael Rauenhorst and Mandy Sullivan.
