FAIRBANKS - The Fairbanks Paddlers will be hosting its 3rd annual Farthest North Wooden Boat Rendezvous on Saturday at Graehl Landing beginning at noon.

The event is a celebration of old, wooden and homemade canoes, kayaks, umiaks, wherries and more. Boats will be on display from noon to 12:30 p.m. before paddlers float their boats from Graehl Landing to the Chena River Recreation Site at the University Avenue bridge for a barbecue and potluck. All paddlers are welcome, with or without boats. Participation is free and spectators help select prize winners. Call 457-4324 for more information.
