Past and Present: Milo Griffin

Milo Griffin stands in the Kenneth B. Dickey Gymnasium at the new Ryan Middle School before he begins coaching track practice on Thursday, September 15, 2016. After getting out of the military in Alaska, Griffin attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks and played on their basketball team from 1966-69. He held the school's all-time leading score for 36 years and still holds the record for points scored in a single game (43). His number 44 jersey was the only jersey retired by the school. Griffin student taught at Ryan Middle School and then taught at Lathrop High School for 37 years. He continues to coach a variety of middle school and high school sports including track, cross country, tennis and basketball.
