FAIRBANKS — A Fairbanks woman has been missing for more than a week since she reportedly made a strange phone call after arriving in Anchorage.

The Anchorage Police Department announced Friday afternoon that they are seeking information about the whereabouts of Mary Anne Alexie, 33. Alexie traveled to Anchorage to attend Alaska Career College on Oct. 9 and called around noon to confirm she arrived, according to police news release. She reportedly never made contact with the school and friends last heard from her about 3 a.m. Oct. 10 when she called sounding confused and said she was in the Spenard neighborhood and did not know where to go.

“We’re concerned,” said Lt. Dave Parker, Anchorage Police Department spokesman. “We want help finding this lady.”

Anchorage police ask anyone with information about Alexie’s whereabouts to call 786-8900.

Contact staff writer Sam Friedman at 459-7545.
