FAIRBANKS — A Fairbanks head shop was robbed early Saturday morning, according to Fairbanks police.

The robbery was reported at 1:09 a.m. at The Scentz, at 1616 South Cushman Street. According to Fairbanks police logs, an employee reported a black man, about 20 years old, carrying a sawed-off shotgun with a pistol grip, entered the store and robbed him. The robber was wearing a black hoodie and shorts, according to the employee.

The suspect took cash from the cash register and the employee’s iPhone, said Fairbanks police Sgt. Gary Yamamato, who is not the officer assigned to the case but said he was familiar with the basic details. He said he was not aware of any witnesses to the robbery, but said there was surveillance camera footage. To his knowledge, police have not identified a suspect, he said.
