FAIRBANKS — Fairbanks North Star Borough School District high school students are eligible for the upcoming construction academy and workshops.

The program provides high school students with career technical education courses and workshops for jobs in high-demand construction and trade programs.

Construction Academy classes are held throughout the school year, three days per week from 3:15-6:15 p.m. at Hutchison and North Pole high schools. Students may receive high school elective or college credits for the courses.

The course “Building Traces 1B” starts Monday, with a complete application needed before the course start date.

Shorter construction workshops run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. two to five days a week at the Pipeline Training Center. The next workshop, “Power Tool Projects 1” will be Thursday and Friday.
