FAIRBANKS — Fairbanks police are investigating a pair of burglaries reported early Thursday morning at downtown businesses.

The first break-in was reported about 3 a.m. at a jewelry store on the 400 block of Noble Street, while a second was reported not long after at a laundry on the 500 block of Gaffney Road, Sgt. Kurt Lockwood said. Merchandise and cash were reported stolen.

Police are not stating the names of the businesses at the request of the businesses, though the street addresses correspond with Larson’s Fine Jewelers and the Coin King Laundromat.

Police detectives have not named any suspects but were following some leads in the case Thursday, Lockwood said.
