FAIRBANKS — Energia Cura LLC, a Fairbanks energy consulting and pipeline operations and maintenance firm, has received accreditation with the International Standards Organization, according to a press release.

As a result, Energia Cura is the only lab in Alaska and one of a small number in the U.S. to calibrate small volume meter provers, a precision measurement device used to verify the accuracy of petroleum and other liquid flow meters.

The company uses the device to provide third-party verification of the flow meters that determine the amount of crude oil used by Flint Hills and PetroStar Refineries from the trans-Alaska pipeline connection in North Pole. It hopes to expand use of the prover, particularly on the North Slope.
