Early voting numbers in Alaska appear off from '08

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Early voting numbers appear to be off considerably from the 2008 general election in Alaska.

As of Monday, the Division of Elections reports that about 54,100 ballots were cast early, either in person, absentee, online or by fax or mail.

That compares to about 95,600 ballots cast early, absentee or by fax or mail in 2008.

People can still vote absentee on Election Day, which is also the deadline to postmark absentee by-mail ballots.
