ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A spokeswoman for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough says two commercial buildings were destroyed and a third severely damaged in Talkeetna.

Patty Sullivan says emergency officials took a call on a fire at the Dumpling Cafe at 2:24 a.m.

Talkeetna firefighters reached the Main Street structure at 2:40 a.m.

The found a fire that was also burning the Denali Zipline Tours building and Denali Dry Goods, a store that sells Alaska handicrafts.

Firefighters from the Willow, Houston, West Lakes and Central Mat-Su departments responded. The fire was brought under control at 4:23 a.m.

The cafe and the zipline building were destroyed. Denali Dry Goods was heavily damaged.

Talkeetna is a community of about 900. It's a popular tourist destination and a takeoff point for people climbing or flight-seeing Mount McKinley.
