FAIRBANKS - Alaska is home to 10 of the twenty tallest mountains in North America. The tallest and best-known summit, of course, is 20,320-foot Denali, aka Mount McKinley. Second on the list at 19,541 feet is Canada’s Mount Logan, followed by 18,491-foot Pico de Oirzaba in Mexico. Alaska’s Mount Saint Elias, at 18,009 feet, ranks No. 4 on the list.

Alaska’s five tallest peaks:

1) Denali, Alaska Range — 20,320’

2) Mount Saint Elias, St. Elias Range — 18,009’

3) Mount Foraker, Alaska Range — 17,400’

4) Mount Bona, St. Elias Range — 16,550’

5) Mount Blackburn, Wrangell Range — 16,390’
