FAIRBANKS - Assistant District Attorney Romano DiBenedetto has been selected as a new magistrate for the 4th Judicial District in Fairbanks, according to an Alaska Court System news release.

DiBenedetto will fill the vacancy left by Bethany Harbison, who was recently picked to become a Superior Court judge.

DiBenedetto graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in 1993 and worked at the Illinois state attorney’s office for 16 years before coming to Alaska and the Fairbanks district attorney’s office in 2011. His first day is Nov. 26.

DiBenedetto was selected by Presiding Judge Douglas Blankenship.
