Country singer Johnny Patton coming to Two Rivers

A little bit of Nashville country is coming to Two Rivers to help raise money for local school programs.

Johnny Patton, a popular country songwriter and musician, and his band will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Two Rivers Elementary School. The Arkansas native went to Nashville at the age of 17 and scored a recording contract. He’s a noted “true country” songwriter and plays guitar, fiddle, mandolin and banjo. Popular songs include “Lover’s Purple Heart,” “Am I That Easy to Forget,” “The Blue in Your Eyes,” “I’d have to be Another Man,” and most recently, “Too Late to go Home Early” and “Phone in Heaven.” He has performed with Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Reba McEntire and Merle Haggard.

Local band Peyton Meredith & the Usual Suspects will open.

The concert is sponsored by the Two Rivers School PTA and local businesses to raise money for the after-school program, field trips and special projects for the students.
