KODIAK, Alaska - A Coast Guard helicopter crew has rescued two men after their 28-foot pleasure boat ran aground near Resurrection Bay.

The Coast Guard says the helicopter hoisted the two from the vessel Baby Jane late Tuesday afternoon and took them 17 miles north to Seward, Alaska. They were not injured.

Petty Officer Sara Francis says weather at the time of the grounding was reported as 17 to 28 mph winds with 3-foot seas. She says the owner will try to recover the boat on Wednesday.
