FAIRBANKS — The Fort Wainwright soldiers accused of playing with guns early Sunday morning outside the Fairbanks Denny’s restaurant may face charges in civilian court after all.

Fairbanks police Lt. Matt Soden said Wednesday police are considering forwarding criminal charges to the Fairbanks district attorney. Police previously reported that the military police were handling the incident because everyone involved was a member of the military.

The shots were reported at 3:24 a.m. and police seized three pistols and a shotgun. According to the previous report, police also identified two suspects but did not make any arrests.

Soden did not release any additional information about the incident Wednesday because he said it is still being investigated.
