CHUATHBALUK, Alaska — A 26-year-old Chuathbaluk man has been charged with arson, assault, weapons misconduct and making a false report.
Arnold Simeon Jr. is charged with torching his father's home in the Kuskokwim River village.
Alaska State Troopers say Simeon reported Thursday morning that he had been assaulted by a 19-year-man at his father's home.
He said the teen also pointed a .22-caliber rifle at him, threatened to kill him and threatened to burn the house down.
Troopers within the hour prepared to go to the village and took a second call that the house was in flames.
Investigators say Simeon Jr. admitted fighting with the teenager and firing a rifle to frighten him. They say he also admitted starting a fire in the home's living room.
Simeon was jailed in Bethel.
