ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A cargo jet landed safely in Anchorage after declaring an emergency.

KTUU reports (http://is.gd/pIMpPj) the 747-400 jet owned by Evergreen International landed just before 7 a.m. Wednesday at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.

Larry Lewis, an investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board, says cockpit instruments indicated possible problems with the hydraulic system. Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer says in an email to the Anchorage television station the pilot reported an indication the landing gear didn't fully deploy.

Lewis says the plane landed "without incident." It was towed to a hangar to be inspected.

The cargo plane was flying from Shanghai, China, to Anchorage. There were nine people on board, and no injuries were reported.
