The Challenge: During the summer of 2020, help E-Race Racism with a walk, run, roll or bike around Fairbanks and North Pole, Alaska and update your awareness of the impact of people of color and minority folks on the history of Interior Alaska. Take a picture or make a note of each place and email them to us for posting on the website, or load your collection on our Facebook event page!

Folks who visit 15 of the sites win a Race Against Racism T-shirt.

The Course: You do not have to follow the 5K or 10K routes to collect the landmarks in this year’s Challenge. Maps are on this site. You do not have to reach the landmarks in any particular order. You can take all summer to add to your collection.

The cultural benefit: As you find each place, you’ll learn about people of color and those from disenfranchised minorities who brought our community forward. In 2020, we have expanded beyond our traditional race route to include more of these role models.
