The Fairbanks Chapter of the NAACP is hosting this year's Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 15, from noon to 5pm at the Bernice Allridge Park. Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of the last enslaved people in the U.S with the abolition of slavery in Texas on June 19, 1865. This year's celebration includes food, vendors, and live entertainment. It is a free event, and all are invited.
