FAIRBANKS — Allan Hayton has been named director of Doyon Foundation’s language revitalization program, which was established in 2012 to revitalize Interior Native languages and create language-learning opportunities.

Hayton studied theater and film and Haskell Indian Nations University and the University of Kansas, later graduating from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a master’s degree in applied linguistics. He previously served on the Doyon Foundation board and vice president and was chairman of the language revitalization committee.
